Nobody can tell you exactly how many pounds you should weigh, because everybody has a different frame. Ideally you want your BMI to fall between the first blue column in this graph, between 18.5 and 25. For example: If your 5 foot 8, then a healthy weight range would be from about 125-155. If you were say 6 feet tall, then your ideal should fall between 135 - 180. Just match your height and weight on the chart, at the point they meet. Does it fall between the first two horizontal dotted lines? ![]() The healthy weight range is quite wide. As you can see at 6 feet, there is about 45 pounds of space in what is considered a normal body mass index. If your BMI falls into the ranges of "underweight" or "obesity" then you need to consider getting professional help, as these are serious health problems which need attention. And yet obesity has continued to rise and increase, especially in the United States. Its no mystery. People are simply consuming more calories and fat, and getting less physical activity and exercise. I'm one of many people who work a desk job, making websites like this one. I'm also someone who enjoys rich foods, like cheese, chocolate, butter, meats, sauces, etc. The only reason I fall into the "normal" category is because I love going for long walks on a daily basis. That's literally the only exercise I'm getting. I have never needed to loose weight fast. But keep in mind that I eat that organic food, and therefore the rich foods I'm consuming at least have quality ingredients and don't seem to be resulting in any health problems.
